In order to create this piece, the author underwent a cranial CT scan (Computerized Axial Tomography), from which, raw data was obtained in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) format. Using medical and 3D software, the author has processed this raw data obtaining an optimized virtual model of the skull in STL format (Standard Tessellation Language) for subsequent prototyping with a rapid prototyping equipment; the result was a life-size physical model of the author’s skull.
